Why does mineral buildup matter for colour?
Hard water mineral deposits — particularly iron, copper and calcium — accumulate in the hair fibre over time through washing and swimming. These metals can react with hair colour chemicals during processing, causing unpredictable results including colour that goes too dark, too warm or fails to lift as expected.
