Gel Nail Brushes

The brush does more of the work than most people expect. A good gel brush picks up a consistent bead, spreads it evenly without flooding the cuticle, and holds its shape wash after wash. Our range is built around The GelBottle Inc, whose brushes are a staple in professional nail studios, alongside the more affordable Chroma Gel Elite brush for anyone building a first kit.

Application brushes

The Flat 01 is the everyday workhorse, with a square edge that spreads builder gel evenly across the nail plate and follows the cuticle line cleanly. Round 01 and Round 02 carry more product and self level as you work, which suits apex building and anyone who prefers a softer edge against the skin. If you are choosing one brush to start with, a flat or a round covers the majority of standard gel application.

Liners, detail and nail art

Liner 01, 02 and 03 run through increasing bristle lengths for pulling long, unbroken lines, with the longest best suited to swooping freehand work and fine French smile lines. The Stripe Liner 01 is made specifically for straight stripe work where consistency matters more than flexibility. Detail 01 and Detail 02 are the short, precise options for tiny freehand elements and tidying edges. The 4D 01 brush handles sculpted and raised gel art, while the Dotting 01 Tool gives perfectly round dots at a consistent size, which is far harder to achieve with a brush.

Blending and finishing

The Ombrè brush is made for gradient work, softening the join between two colours so the transition reads as seamless rather than striped. The Dusting Brush is a finishing tool rather than an application one, sweeping filings and loose pigment off the nail and from around the cuticle before you cure or top coat. Both are worth having once you move past single colour sets.

Looking after them

Never let gel cure in a brush, and keep brushes out of direct light while you work, since ambient UV will slowly harden product left in the bristles. Wipe on a lint free pad after each use rather than rinsing in acetone, which dries synthetic bristle out and shortens the brush's life considerably. Reshape the bristles to a point while damp, then store flat or bristle upwards with the cap on.

If a brush has already stiffened, The GelBottle's Brush Saviour is designed to soften and restore cured gel from the bristles rather than replacing the brush outright. At £22.95 against £16.95 for a new brush, it pays for itself the second time you use it.
