Hair Loss Treatments
Thinning hair is one of the most common things clients raise with us, and it is almost always harder to talk about than it is to do something about. This range covers densifying shampoos, scalp serums, thickening treatments and supporting care designed to improve the look, feel and body of finer or thinning hair.
What these products actually do
Being straight with you matters here. Cosmetic hair loss products work on the appearance and condition of the hair you have and on the environment it grows in. They can leave hair looking noticeably fuller, reduce breakage so you keep the length you have, and improve scalp comfort and cleanliness. What they are not is a medical treatment, and any genuine, sudden or patchy loss is worth a GP or trichologist appointment rather than a shopping trip. The two are not mutually exclusive, and plenty of people use both alongside each other.
Start with the scalp
Scalp health is the part most people skip and the part that tends to make the biggest visible difference. Build up from styling products, dry shampoo and sebum leaves the scalp congested and hair flat at the root. A clarifying wash once a week, followed by a scalp serum or tonic massaged in properly, does more for how hair sits than any amount of volumising mousse. Give any scalp product at least twelve weeks before judging it, since hair growth cycles are slow and a month tells you nothing.
Densifying shampoos and conditioners
Densifying and thickening formulas work by coating the hair shaft to increase its apparent diameter, so hair feels thicker and takes up more visual space. Keep conditioner on mid lengths and ends rather than the root, as heavy conditioning at the scalp is the fastest way to flatten fine hair. If your hair is fine but you have a lot of it, a lighter formula will serve you better than the richest option on the page.
Protecting what you have
A large amount of what people read as hair loss is actually breakage. Hair snapping mid shaft leaves the ends looking wispy and the overall shape thin, and it is entirely preventable. Heat protection before styling, a gentler brush, and a bond building treatment used regularly all keep more hair on your head than any serum will. If you colour, this matters more still.
Come and talk to us
We see thinning hair every week in the salon in Codsall, across every age group and both men and women, and the right cut makes a considerable difference on its own. Shorter layers, the right parting and a little texture can create the impression of far more density than product alone. We also fit male hair systems for clients who want fuller coverage, including one member of our own team who wears one. If you are not sure where to begin, a conversation costs nothing.
