Manic Panic Professional Pastelizer is a clear mixing base, not a colour on its own, designed to be blended with Manic Panic shades to dilute their intensity and create soft, custom pastel and sheer tones. It carries all the benefits of the Professional gel formula, aiding accurate colour placement, even pigment distribution and strong dye absorption, so your pastels apply smoothly, cover evenly and last, fading true to tone rather than turning muddy.

What it does for your hair

Vivid direct dyes are highly pigmented, so to get a soft pastel you need to dilute that pigment, and that's exactly what the Pastelizer is for. Mixed with any Manic Panic shade, it lightens the intensity to your chosen pastel level while keeping the colour smooth and even, no patchy or streaky results. The gel base helps the diluted pigment deposit and absorb properly for better longevity, and because Manic Panic fades true to tone, your pastel stays looking like itself as it softens rather than shifting colour. The more Pastelizer you add, the softer and sheerer the result.

How to use it

Best applied to pre-lightened, clean, dry hair (pastels show up best on a pale blonde base). Mix the Pastelizer with your chosen Manic Panic shade, adding more Pastelizer for a softer, paler result and less for a more saturated one. Apply the mixed colour evenly, leave to develop as directed, then rinse until the water runs clear. We'd suggest a strand test first, and wearing gloves, as the pigments stain.
