- Glitterbels Nail Sponge File, 180/220 grit
- Dual-grit cushioned sponge nail file
- 180 grit for shaping, 220 grit for smoothing
- Foam-padded construction for gentler filing
Glitterbels Nail Sponge File is a professional dual-grit sponge nail file with 180 grit on one side and 220 grit on the other. Sponge files (also called cushion files) have foam padding between the abrasive surface and the file body, giving a slight give during filing that's gentler on the natural nail and enhancement surface than a rigid hard-board file. 180 grit is a medium-coarse grit suited to shaping natural nails, refining gel/acrylic shape after application, and initial smoothing work. 220 grit is a finer grit for surface smoothing, refining the final finish, and blending. Real workhorse dual-purpose file for standard nail service work.
Key features
- Professional dual-grit sponge nail file
- 180 grit side — medium-coarse for shaping and initial smoothing
- 220 grit side — fine for surface smoothing and refining
- Foam-padded cushion construction
- For natural nail shaping and gel/acrylic finishing
How to use
For shaping work, use the 180 grit side to establish the nail shape — file in one direction where possible rather than back-and-forth sawing motion (back-and-forth motion causes more nail-plate stress and can weaken natural nails). Progress to the 220 grit side to refine the shape and smooth any rough edges from the initial shaping. For gel/acrylic finishing after application, use the same progression — 180 to refine the built shape, 220 to smooth the surface before top coat. For natural nail buffing and finishing between polish services, use the 220 grit side only for gentle smoothing.
Who it's for
This file is for professional nail techs and confident home users doing regular nail service work. We've spent years helping clients in Codsall look and feel their best, and as a working salon, we know 180/220 dual-grit files are the everyday-workhorse choice for most standard nail service — coarser grits (100, 150) are for heavy acrylic work and building shape, finer grits (240, 320+) are for finishing and shining. The 180/220 combination hits the sweet spot for the widest range of general nail work.

For professional and adult use. Avoid over-filing the natural nail plate — the plate is a limited resource and aggressive or repeated filing thins the plate over time. File in one direction where possible rather than back-and-forth sawing motion. Do not file over damaged, infected or broken nails — consult a GP if you notice signs of paronychia or nail-plate infection. Sterilise the file between clients per your salon hygiene routine, or use disposable files for the highest hygiene standard. Keep out of reach of children.
