What it does for your hair

Light blonde, grey and lightened hair naturally drifts warm and yellow over time. Fanola No Yellow counteracts that with violet pigment, the shade opposite yellow on the colour wheel, so it cancels out warmth for a cooler, cleaner, brighter result. Its pigment is famously strong, which is why it's so effective and so loved, but it also means it's easy to over-tone, so on very light or very porous hair, start with a shorter time and build up to avoid a violet cast. All the while, the gentle cleansing action keeps hair feeling soft and looking healthy rather than dried out.

How to use it

Apply to wet hair and massage through, then leave on for up to 5 minutes depending on how much toning you want, less for a gentle refresh, longer for stronger toning. Rinse thoroughly. For very light, grey or porous hair, start at the shorter end and mix with your regular shampoo if you want a milder effect. Use once or twice a week, or whenever tones start to warm up. We'd suggest wearing gloves, as the pigment can stain.

This is a strongly pigmented toning shampoo and can stain skin, hands, towels and surfaces, and will leave a violet or grey cast if left on too long or used on very porous hair, so wear gloves, don't over-tone (start with a shorter time on very light hair) and rinse thoroughly. Avoid contact with the eyes, and rinse immediately if contact occurs.
