Unlike a permanent colour, it's a direct (semi-permanent) colour, so there's no developer to mix, it applies straight from the tube and deposits rich, glossy tone that fades gradually. It's ideal for creative colouring, toning, or refreshing and reviving existing shades, and it can be intermixed with the rest of the I-Light range for fully customisable results, from bold statement colour to soft, subtle effects. Formulated with Hydra-Gum 80 technology to help improve colour longevity and shine.

What it does for your hair

Direct (semi-permanent) colours like this deposit pigment onto and into the hair without needing a developer or lifting the natural colour, which makes them a gentler, more flexible way to add vivid, fashion or creative tones. Violet Night gives a rich, glossy violet, whether you want it bold and full-on, softened to a pastel, or knocked back to a vintage tone (mixed with the range's Pastel, Vintage or Dark filters). It shows up most vividly on pre-lightened or light blonde hair (on darker hair the effect is subtler), and because it's semi-permanent, it fades gradually over washes, so it's lower-commitment than a permanent colour. The Hydra-Gum 80 technology (Quaternium-80 plus natural gums) helps the colour last and adds shine, for a glossy, vibrant, long-wearing result. How to use it

For professional or experienced use. We'd still recommend a patch test before use. Apply the colour directly to clean, dry, pre-lightened hair (no developer needed), either pure for maximum vibrancy, or intermixed with other I-Light shades and filters to customise the tone and intensity. Process for the recommended time, then rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Wear gloves, as vivid direct colours stain.
