There's no developer or mixing involved, so it's easy to use at home, and it helps condition the hair as it works, leaving it glossy rather than dried out.

What it does for your hair

I-Care uses direct dyes that deposit colour without any activator, so the shade sits on the hair and gradually washes away over roughly five to six shampoos (longer on more porous hair), with no visible roots or regrowth line as it fades. Alongside the colour, emollient and film-forming conditioners help condition the hair during and after application, adding shine and a smoother feel. Being a pale, golden shade, it shows up best on lighter, blonde or pre-lightened hair, adding a soft golden warmth or refreshing an existing golden tone rather than making a dramatic change on dark hair.

How to use it

1. Carry out an allergy alert test at least 48 hours before each application (see below).
2. Wash the hair and towel-dry so it's damp, not soaking.
3. Wearing gloves, apply the cream evenly through the hair, section by section, then comb through to distribute.
4. Leave on for 3 to 10 minutes depending on how much warmth you want (less time for a subtle refresh, longer for a richer golden result). On very porous hair, keep the time at the shorter end.
5. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, then style as usual.
