What is amika?

amika is a Brooklyn-born professional haircare brand that launched in 2007 with a very clear idea of what it wanted to be: a brand that made genuinely brilliant hair products, smelled incredible, and did not cut corners on ingredients or ethics. Every product in the range is cruelty-free and the vast majority are vegan friendly. The hero ingredient across the entire range is Sea Buckthorn Berry, a natural superfruit packed with omegas, vitamins and antioxidants that nourish and protect the hair without harsh chemicals.

If there is one amika product that genuinely converts people, it is the amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. We say it is the best dry shampoo we sell and we mean it. It absorbs oil brilliantly without leaving any chalky white residue, gives the roots real volume and body, and smells absolutely fantastic rather than that generic hairspray smell most dry shampoos have. The amika Bust Your Brass range is one of the most popular toning ranges we stock and for good reason. The Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Shampoo neutralises brassy and yellow tones in blonde, bleached, highlighted and grey hair brilliantly without drying the hair out, which is a genuine problem with a lot of purple shampoos. amika The Kure is the brand's bond repair range and one of the best treatments for damaged hair we stock. It is designed for hair that has been weakened by bleach, chemical processing, heat damage or frequent colouring. The Kure works by targeting and rebuilding the hair's internal bonds, which is what gives over-processed hair that dry, brittle, snappy feel. The results with consistent use are genuinely impressive — stronger, smoother hair with far less breakage.

The amika The Shield Anti-Humidity Spray is our single best selling product across the entire site and it is easy to see why. It is a brilliant all-in-one heat protector and anti-humidity spray that keeps blowdrys and styled hair smooth and frizz-free in any weather. If you have ever stepped outside after spending an hour on your hair and watched it puff straight back up in the rain, this is the product that fixes that.
