It was created by hairdressers, for hairdressers, and quickly built a following in the professional industry through social media and the quality of its vivid colour results. The brand is now distributed to professional salons in over 40 countries.

Pulp Riot produces both a semi-permanent vivid colour range and a professional permanent colour line. The semi-permanent range is particularly well regarded for its colour intensity, its performance on pre-lightened hair, and its fade behaviour, which tends to fade more gradually and evenly than many competitor products.
