The Benefits of a Vegan Hair Mask

Hair masks can be an absolute miracle for your hair, especially if you suffer from dry hair, frizzy hair, damaged hair or chemically treated hair. This isn't to say though that hair masks aren't also for people who already do have healthy hair. Anybody can use a hair mask and a good hair mask is good to have in your hair care routine.

A hair mask gives the hair shine, nourishment and it also gives it back softness that we all associate with having healthy hair. If you've not used a hair mask before, You're certainly going to notice a huge difference, Especially if you're somebody who suffers with dry hair.

Depending on what hair mask you decide to try, you will find that each hair mask has it's own unique characteristics. Some hair masks are heavily pigmented and will deposit colour into the hair to keep your hair colour topped up and looking as salon fresh as the day you stepped out of the hair salon. other hair masks are purely to add back the essential substances that your hair may now be lacking after a chemical treatment or just day to day factors.

How to apply a Vegan Hair Mask

Applying a vegan hair mask is simple and to be honest, it's also a great way to have just 10 minutes of peace to yourself.

Your hair mask should be applied after shampooing, when the hair's most outer layer, the cuticle, has been opened. This way, the hair is able to take in the most beneficial substances from the hair mask. For the best possible results, you should also towel dry your hair before you apply the hair mask as this will allow the hair mask to remain more concentrated.

The best place to apply your hair mask to the ends and mid-lengths of your hair. You'll notice that this is where your hair gets the most dry and brittle. The amount of the hair mask that you apply is entirely variable from person to person as this depends on the length of the hair and the thickness of the hair you're applying the mask to.

Leave your hair mask on for as long as the instructions on the product packaging tell you to so that the hair mask can properly and fully penetrate the hair and allow for as much nutrition as possible, then rinse the hair off thoroughly.

Once you have washed the hair mask off, You're going to want to finish your at home hair treatment with a good shampoo. If you're using a brand of hair care products like Maria Nila, You'll notice that their products are usually in ranges. Each range contains a vegan shampoo, vegan conditioner and a vegan hair mask. We'd recommend sticking to the same brand for shampoo, conditioner and mask.

Finally, If you are somebody who suffers with dry hair, it would never be a bad idea to treat yourself to a good hair oil. One of our favourite vegan hair oils currently is the LeaLuo Go Deep Tiger Grass Hair Oil 100ml.
